Realizing Advanced Networked Simulation Environments
Global simulated defense missions and live test events are growing more complex with every participant demanding network ready access to high-definition graphics and video data. In these domains, HD video and audio supplied by instructors and the ability for students and staff to accurately view those data in real time, with uncompromised quality, are essential requirements. When a simulated mission or live event is complete, reviewing every participant's actions, synchronously with those of other operators provides mission analysts and designers with immediate lessons learned. Equally vital is the ability to archive complex mission and events and to make them available (via strict access control) as historical case studies, or for immediate review.

When dozens of simultaneous, networked streams comprised of encoded/decoded HD, ultra HD video/ audio and standard video such as, MPEG4, H.264, UDP and DIS data are recorded and played back synchronously, a new standard for simulation/live event is created. The ability to process and integrate vast quantities of visual data provides an in-depth learning experience through better and clearer event correlation, and instant access to key events, thus better preparing students for live missions.
